TAGteach Applied Registration Page
Join TAGteach cofounder Theresa McKeon and Susquehanna Service Dogs to see TAGteach applied for a safe and effective learning environment for human clients.

TOPIC
TAGteach and Teacher Prep: Having a solid curriculum is essential. But what if, with a bit of planning and a few TAGteach tools, you could enhance your learner’s confidence before they even step into the classroom to teach? Let’s work through it together!

Our guests, Stephanie Peebles, a Partner Education & Support Specialist at Susquehanna Service Dogs, and Susan Tyson, a Level 2 TAGteach certified volunteer with 23 years of experience at Susquehanna Service Dogs, will help us understand the significance of teacher preparation in both live and virtual settings.
Through their work with clients at Susquehanna Service Dogs, Susan and Stephanie have discovered the value of fostering a calm learning environment, especially for individuals with various disabilities that may affect learning. By planning in advance, clients can be better supported in learning how to work with their new service dogs or enhance their
knowledge of canine health, wellness, and training.
The strategies up for discussion are:

- Teacher Prep - How can we build confidence and eliminate unwanted distractions before class begins? Bring in the WOOF!
- Defining Success –What does “setting up for success” look like for your learners?
- Break it Down - If the learner needs help, can you quickly find the thing BEFORE the thing?
- Let’s Try It – Live demonstration
- Attendees’ choice – Let’s “tagify” a skill suggested by the attendees
Please note: you may teach skills differently or you may work in another field entirely. The point of this session is to learn about TAGteach, so even if you do things differently (or you teach in some other field), you'll gain valuable strategies for applying TAGteach to your own situation.

ABOUT THERESA
After more than 30 years as a national level gymnastics coach, Theresa was determined to find a way to speed up skill acquisition for her athletes while simultaneously decreasing stress and fear in the learning environment. Her search for behaviorally sound techniques, clean instructions, and the proper timing of feedback and reinforcement, led to the development of the TAGteach methodology along with partners Joan Orr, Karen Pryor and Beth Wheeler. The success of the methodology has been accented by the wide range of applications embracing it.
Theresa now consults and designs TAGteach programs in multiple fields including: corporate training, industrial safety, medical and surgical training, sport coaching, even family communication. She is a sought after speaker around the world including Europe, U.K., Taiwan, Japan, Australia and New Zealand
