OVERVIEW
Will the princess escape from evil queen’s plots?
In this webinar I will present and discuss a school project I did with my special needs student.
We had worked a lot on cursive writing because I wanted him to develop this skill and also because it is a good training for fine motor skills. Problem was that - I think - he had some aversive experiences with writing, especially with dictation in the past.
I never was able to have him to write what I was telling him. (I thought that dictation would been great because I would know in advance what he is writing and I could help/guide him via tag points in the process). That was my starting point for this school year.
After some experimenting, I stumbled on a way to have him write under dictation: let’s rewrite the fairy tales! What if the three little pigs were farting wood, straw and brick on the wolf?
We will talk about how to use success, TAGteach and Direct Instruction to change learners’ attitude, get them engaged and happy to learn.
