This is an offer for you if you're a Level 1 TAGteacher. Please join us to earn your Level 2 in this virtual, instructor-led course. You'll get access to online lessons to complete at your own pace between formal teaching sessions. We'll also have a 1.5 hour group class once a week in which we'll be trying to recreate the amazing experience of our live workshops. In addition you'll have access to your instructor for 1 hour once per week of unstructured "office hours" in case you have questions or just want to check in.

This is a replacement for the "Attend a live Advanced Workshop" part of the certification requirements. The remainder of the Level 2 Certification Requirements still apply.

Course Structure

This is a 6-week course that builds on the Level 1 online or live certification training. There is 1 extra orientation session for 1 hour, one week before the first class starts.

The course will run for 6 weeks, with six 1.5 hour lessons, one every  week. In addition there will be an optional 1 hour drop office hour once a week for the first 5 weeks.

The Nov 3 class is at a different time for North America due to differences in daylight savings time

Online Lessons

On the day after each virtual lesson with your instructor a new online self-study lesson will become available. You'll have 6 days to review the material and complete the homework.

Virtual Lessons with Your Instructor

On the susequent Thursday after the self-study lesson becomes available you'll join a virtual classroom with the rest of your class group. Your instructor will give a brief summary of the key points from the online lesson, and will give additional examples and possibly show additional video. Your instructor will lead the group in fun activities to help solidify the learning.

Attendance at the virtual lessons is MANDATORY in order to obtain certification. There may be some leeway to miss one class, but missing more than one will disqualify you from obtaining certification. We'll do our best to accommodate you if you need to miss a class.

Observation and Practice

This course contains numerous examples and video demonstrations as well as opportunities for you to practice your observation and tagging skills.

Quizzes and Homework

There are optional quizzes and exercises throughout the course to help you cement your new knowledge. There are homework assignments that you will complete and bring to the next class or office hour for discussion. In order to earn certification you will be required to bring your homework to the next class or office hour.

Office Hours with Your Instructor

Each week there will be 1 hour of designated office hours during which you can drop in to talk to your instructor in case you have any questions or just want to chat. This is an opportunity to present your homework and get feedback. Additional videos and activities may be included.

Attendance at office hours is strongly encouraged but not mandatory.

Recordings

All classes and office hours will be recorded so that you can go back and review. You'll have unlimited access to the recordings and to the course material.

Lesson Format

Each lesson will consist of a self-study unit, a 1.5 hour virtual lesson with an instructor and 1 hour of office hours with the instructor.

A get together after a few weeks to see how it's going and to discuss issues and celebrate progress with your classmates. Date to be determined by the class.

How Long Does the Course Take?

You complete the course at your own pace and from wherever you have internet access. The course takes approximately 9 hours to complete not including the time for the home exercises and to read  the reading materials. 

We estimate that it takes about 10 additional hours to do the home exercises and TAGteach practice.

If you spend 1.5-2 hours per day you could get your Level 1 in 2 weeks.

Cost and Equipment

The cost ($400) is paid by credit card or paypal. This includes the Level 1 Certification. 

With the purchase of the Level 2 Certification Course you will get this course for $250.

There are no extra fees for text books or supplemental materials. You will need a "tagger" (also known as a clicker - available at many pet supply stores). You need to have internet access.  Access to a printer may also be helpful if you are not comfortable reading online. Once enrolled, you have unlimited access to the course for as long as we keep the course going.This course works on all mobile devices.

Level 1 TAGteach Certification

You'll earn your Level 1 TAGteach certification by completing this course.

As a Level 1 TAGteacher you may refer to yourself as a TAGteacher and may use TAGteach (and call it such) with your clients. You may use the the certification badge at your website and in your printed marketing materials as long as you remain a member in good standing.

You may participate in free educational sessions to help spread the word about TAGteach. For example, Lunch and Learn or local Chamber of Commerce breakfast meetings. Please contact us and we will provide PowerPoint and videos for such presentations.

You may not hold training sessions in person or online to instruct others on the application of TAGteach. The TAGteach name is a registered trademark and you may not use it in any commercial applications (lectures, webinars, publications etc).

Higher Levels of Certification

In order to receive a Certificate of Completion, you will need to complete the course and pass the quiz.

CCPDT, IAABC and KPA: 9 CEUs

BACB: 10.5 CEUs (additional fee of $30 applies)

In order to obtain the CEUs you must obtain a Certificate of Completion.

The Certificate of Completion shows that you completed the course and is sufficient for the CEUs listed above. In order to obtain TAGteach Level 1 Certification you also need to hand in your journal, worksheets and videos for assessment. This is optional, you can take the course without getting TAGteach Level 1 Certification.
