This assumes a basic working knowledge of TAGteach. Free resources are provided on the access page once you register.

What was your favorite part of the workinar?

I liked the interactivity versus the lecture-style of most webinars.

Erica Pytlovany

Presentation and Group Work

I enjoyed both the presentations and the chance to work in a group and provide feedback.

Diana Simonsen

Like Being In-Person

I liked that it was nearly like being in person.

Roni Campbell

Break Out Groups

The breakout groups, the goal and plan.

I liked focusing on a small component of TAGteach with oversight from people with certifications; I also liked brainstorming and hearing others' ideas.

The Examples

The examples and how each group approached things slightly differently.

We're trying out something new at a low price to help you get the most from your TAGteaching. This workinar (working webinar) will include an instructional component as well as a practical component, where you'll be able to practice breaking skills down into small pieces and creating tag points. TAGteach Faculty will be on hand to help you and to facilitate discussion.

Complex skills (riding a horse, tying a shoe, performing a flip, public speaking) are typically taught in small components or “steps” and subsequently linked together.

The challenge is determining:

• What are those steps?

• How many should there be?

• Should every step be a tag point?

During this 2 hour interactive “Workinar” (working webinar), Taylor and Theresa will use discussion, videos, and group/individual exercises to discuss with you…How Many Tag Points Does It Take?

• Learn techniques to quickly identify and isolate component actions

• Decide: Should I create I tag point for that?

• Use WOOF to turn those component actions into tag points

• Practice creating tag points in “real time”.

• What are value-added tag points and how do they come into play

You'll get to participate in 3 small group practical activities related to tag point creation or skill breakdown in a break-out room with a Level 3 TAGteacher or member of the TAGteach Faculty as your group leader. After each break-out session we'll reconvene to share the key learning moments from each group.

We'll be recording the main instructional session and this will be available afterwards only to registered attendees. We won't be recording the breakout sessions, but you'll get to see the discussion and summary of these. The recording will NOT be available for sale after the fact.

2 CEUs are pending from IAABC, KPA, CCPDT and BACB. We'll let you know when these are available. They will be accessible on the recording page for the webinar. There will be an extra charge for the BACB CEUs.

If you're not satisfied with the workinar and you attended the full session you may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

There are no refunds if you don't attend in person, since this event has an in-person practical component and as such the enrollment number is limited. You will have access to the recorded portion of the event after the fact if you paid to attend.

If you can't attend, you may transfer your registration to someone else, subject to a $10 change fee. This request must be made outside of 24 hours before the event.

After more than 30 years as a national level gymnastics coach, Theresa was determined to find a way to speed up skill acquisition for her athletes while simultaneously decreasing stress and fear in the learning environment. Her search for behaviorally sound techniques, clean instructions, and the proper timing of feedback and reinforcement, led to the development of the TAGteach methodology along with partners Joan Orr, Karen Pryor and Beth Wheeler. The success of the methodology has been accented by the wide range of applications embracing it.

Theresa now consults and designs TAGteach programs in multiple fields including: corporate training, industrial safety, medical and surgical training, sport coaching, even family communication. She is a sought after speaker around the world including Europe, U.K., Taiwan, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

Taylor McCaffrey is a Level 2 TAGteacher and has worked for Guide Dogs UK as an Orientation and Mobility Instructor of the visually impaired for the past 6 years and before that at Lighthouse International in NYC.
