OVERVIEW

Join us for a fun and interactive learning experience on Wed Mar 26 at 2-3 PM EDT with Theresa McKeon and Jessica Wheatcraft.

This is the first in a new series in which Theresa McKeon will team up with an expert to break skills down, create tag points and optimize communication between teacher and learner. The purpose is to help you to see how to create tag points and deliver clear, effective instructions. The topic of the session may not apply to you, but you'll learn a lot about how TAGteach works and how to break skills down. TAGteach works the same way regardless of the application. This session is about dog leash handling, but we encourage you to join us whether you're a dog trainer, music teacher, nurse educator, speech therapist, sport coach, parent, or you give instructions to learners in any capacity. We've often found that students of TAGteach learn better when the topic is unfamiliar to them. So even if dog walking isn't your thing, please join us to observe Theresa masterfully engaging with Jessica to help formulate crystal clear instructions and streamline communcation between teacher and learner.

TOPIC

Mastering the Leash: Skill breakdown and tag points for learning key leash handling skills for anyone who walks a dog or puppy.

The strategies Jessica will present to Theresa are designed to:

-  set dogs up for success and to reduce pressure on their bodies whenever possible

- keep the person walking the dog safe, especially if it is a large/powerful dog

- keep the community safe by not having dogs approach strange people or dogs in public unless invited.

Essentially, these strategies are for anyone who walks a dog in public, from reactive dogs to wiggly puppies. These are the effective, humane strategies that Jessica teaches to all her clients.

Theresa will help Jessica to break down her expert knowledge so that a beginner can understand, create crystal clear instructions and individual tag points to ensure maximum success and minimum stress for the learner.

You'll get to see Theresa leverage the TAGteach Tools to streamline communication between teacher and learner. You'll be able to see how this would work for whatever it is that you teach.

Please note: you may teach leash handling skils differently or you may teach different leash handling skills or you may work in another field entirely. The point of this session is to learn about TAGteach, so even if you do things differently (or you teach in some other field), you'll gain valuable strategies for applying TAGteach to your own situation.

This will be recorded and all registrants will have access to the recording.
