And now for something different…
A TAGteach Workshop Retreat
Join TAGteach cofounder, Theresa McKeon for a casual (10 person max) workshop designed to build your skills with TAGteach tools.
This is a workshop for TAGteachers who teach skills to people. It's not an animal training workshop, although you're welcome to practice your skills of teaching animal handling and/or training to your fellow attendees, using our willing menagerie.
This workshop has been created specifically for those who may have learned TAGteach via a virtual/online setting and want some “hands on” time or for those who would simply savor the opportunity to experiment, collaborate and brainstorm with TAGteach tools in a live, supportive environment. There are no specific prerequisites to attend the retreat.
Speaking of environment, the workshop site will be spread between two working farms within an hour of Charlotte, North Carolina. There is a Holiday Inn Express close to the location. You'll get details on the precise location once you register.
All are welcome and for those who teach people to train animals, or ride horses, you will have access to a 100x200ft equestrian arena, 2 large round pens, 6 horses, 1 pony, 1 mini-horse, 2 donkeys, 3 dogs, multiple cats, chickens, and even a potbellied pig to aid your practice or just get your cuddly animal fix. During your down time, walk or use the 4x4’s to ride through 200 acres of fields and wooded trails. Don’t be surprised to come across deer, turkey, fox and other wildlife.
Although the workshop hours are 9:30-4:30, take the opportunity before and after to participate in “farm chores” with the animals, take a 4x4 ride through the properties, or just walk about enjoying nature. If you want to do a bit of sightseeing on your trip, there are multiple national parks and other worthy locations within and 1 of our location.
This event will take place on two working farms. We unfortunately can't guarantee that there will be good access for people with disabilities. Please send an email to Theresa, t@tagteach.com, if you want to enquire about accessibility.
Important Note: This retreat has a singular goal of providing a safe setting to discuss and practice TAGteach tools. The word “retreat” (a place to escape danger) was intentional in the title. If you are triggered or offended by any particular teaching or training strategy, or don’t like being exposed to a spectrum of reinforcement, we understand, but please pass on this event.
I absolutely want to come to this! You know I will share this event far and wide!! I loved being part of the beta test, it still stands as one of my most memorable days I hope others get to experience the same.

What Will You Learn?
At the conclusion of the course you should be able to apply the principles learned in this course to help you be a more effective teacher, coach, manager or parent. You'll have had practical experience applying the on-line lessons through home exercises so you'll have the confidence to begin applying the lessons at work or at home.
How Will This Benefit You?
With the knowledge and experience gained during this course, you’ll be able to create laser focused instructions, provide timely and informative feedback, and create a positive learning environment for you and your learners.
How Long Does the Course Take?
You complete the course at your own pace and from wherever you have internet access. The course takes approximately 9 hours to complete not including the time for the home exercises and to read the reading materials.
We estimate that it takes about 10 additional hours to do the home exercises and TAGteach practice.
If you spend 1.5-2 hours per day you could get your Level 1 in 2 weeks.
The simplicity and power of this approach are remarkable. The extent to which the Founders of this movement have been able to continuously adapt, improve, and apply this simplistic approach to new and different populations and applications is stunning.
Dr Carl Binder, CEO - The Peformance Thinking Network, LLC
"This was an excellent course! The content was very clear and the format was easy to use. The videos, practice exercises and worksheets combined to make the online learning experience much like an in-person, hands-on class.
The material is consistent with the current research and practice in the science of human behavior. I strongly recommend this training to anyone in a position to teach others or help them to develop beneficial habits!"
Laraine Winston BCBA, LMHC
"The content presentation is excellent, the videos wonderful. The course and concepts deserve all the support that can be given."
