Example: Golf Grip

The ultimate goal in this example is to properly grip a golf club. This coach has identified his list of individual tasks (and tag points) for ‘golf club grip – left hand’.

1st – Lay club on dots of the left hand

The tag point is…lay club on dots

2nd – Fingers curl around handle

The tag point is…fingers curl

3rd – Place straight thumb on club handle

The tag point is…thumb on club handle

If the learner didn’t place his thumb correctly, the teacher could add a visual cue to the club handle, such as a dot or a line and give the tag tag point “thumb on line”.
