Summary
Positive reinforcement is the process of delivering a positive reinforcer.
A positive reinforcer is anything pleasant that occurs as a consequence of a behavior and increases the likelihood of that behavior being repeated.
The learner determines what is a positive reinforcer for him or her.
The most important message to take away from this lesson is that behavior that is reinforced is repeated. Find something that your learners find reinforcing and use that to increase the chance that they will repeat the behavior that you like. In all cases the learner determines what is reinforcing for them and it is your job to find out what this is.
