Approaches to Back Chaining – 3: Shape it backwards
Another way to teach in a back chain is with shaping without repeating each step multiple times. This can work when the learner has the physical skills already but doesn’t know the sequence of the behavior. Here’s a lovely example of shaping a back chained behavior:
