Antecedent Arrangement – learner in control

Learners are generally less stressed and more motivated when they have choice and control. Some ways you can offer them that on the antecedent side include:

  • What to name the tag point
  • What the next tag point will be
  • Who will be the tagger
  • Where to work
  • What to work on
  • Who to work with
  • What props/games/toys etc to use
  • How many repetitions to do
  • Whether to work on anything at all
  • Anything that you can think of to give them a choice
