Peer and Group Tagging

These are some examples that you want to use to implement TAGteach in your groups.

Small groups – 1 person is tagger, others are learners. 5 tags and switch until everyone has been the teacher. This one possible solution for peer tagging. This is a great tool that allows the teacher to move around her class meanwhile all the members of the group are learning. Teachers can use this extra time to assess students’ understanding and spot eventual weak points to address later with new tag point(s).

Lines – line up in pairs, go across the room two at a time, one tags, one is learner. When everyone gets to the other side, switch places and come back again

Circuit – everyone goes through a circuit. Past the teacher at one point – teacher tags for the tag point

Drills – one position in the drill is tagger – volleyball video

Teacher tags whole group – ballet quick sit video

If the tag point is very obvious, the whole group can tag one person. For example we did this with the Special Olympics rhythmic gymnasts when they were practicing their routines. The tag point was pretty hands. Whenever they say this in the routine they would all tag. This was a good way to have everyone paying attention with something to do while one person was doing their routine.
