Video – Swimming Lesson
Some issues that parents brought up in the survey were play skills, cooperation and adaptability. This video illustrates the use of TAGteach in all these areas.
This is 4 year old Lear’s first time in a pool. At first he refused altogether, but changed his mind when he found out that we were going to play the tag game. He is already tag savvy and understands how it works. There is lots to see in this video and I encourage you to watch it several times on your own when you get the recording. You will see more in it every time you watch it!
For this viewing, please focus on Lear’s change in confidence as the session progresses, what happens when he doesn’t get a tag and how the teacher changes the criteria based on the child’s needs and what he is showing he is willing and able to do.
Notice how she knows when to stop! As we discussed last time, it is always a good idea to stop on a high note, when the child has had success and is still wanting more.
