Tag Points for Entering House

Personally, I like to reinforce calm behavior in my son at this crucial moment of stepping inside the door and entering the house.

Often when kids come home from school they are carrying backpacks, coats and maybe something else. Maybe the parent is carrying something, or maybe you have to unlock the door. I like a nice, quiet, orderly entry into the house.

So, if you have a smiley face or mat outside the door, you can tag again for Foot on Smiley Face or Foot on Mat.

This standing outside the door tag point is one that I recommend you teach for endurance. With time, ask your child to stand there while you count to 3, then 4, then 5, because you may need that time to get a key or pick up the baby. Naturally, tag and reinforce lavishly for these great behaviors!

As soon as your child steps in the house, tag for Foot On Doormat.
