TAGteach & Precision Teaching – working together
Let’s put together PT an TAGteach. this how we use and consider tag points and pinpoints. TAGteach is for learning; Precision Teaching is for practicing and measurement. Focus funnel This is my long term Objective The instructions are a descriptions of the next training session and finally the tag point, the behavior that will be reinforced. This part is for learning, We will see in my next presentation how my son calls this part «the understanding». Here we reinforce behaviors and build up speed, accuracy and knowledge. When we transfer this new skill into the PT context the tag point will be used to improve the frequency of a specific pinpoint. We do not tag here. Learners are practicing and behaviors need to be self reinforcing. Tag points affects pinpoint and performance in general. When we make PT practice we measure these changes and take decisions.
In this demonstration video I am working with my son on his reading skills. What you will see is how clear the two teaching phases are separated. First we learn the new skill using TAGteach and tag points. Second we practice the new skill and we measure how this acquisition has impacted the whole reading skills.
