The Fearful Learner – example 2

Here’s another example of using tag points to help a learner overcome fear. In this case Paige had been mauled by a dog when she was younger and is still very fearful. Teresa Lewin and a psychiatrist worked on this shaping plan to help her become more confident and less afraid. There are many excellent things to see in this video so you may want to watch it over and over. Pay attention to Paige’s body language and how Teresa uses that to help guide what comes next. Teresa’s goal is to keep Paige comfortable and not anxious at each step.
